While there’s a noticeable rise in the mention of “neurodiversity” in job postings, there’s still much work to be done in making roles accessible to talent regardless of their learning style.

Company with Autistic Hiring Program #1: Auticon
Name of hiring autistic program: Become a destination for neurodivergent talent.
The gist: Auticon is a majority-autistic company and one of the world’s largest employers of autistic adults, with 400 employees (around 300 of whom are autistic) in 8 countries. They offer permanent roles working on client projects as:

Name of hiring autistic program: Neurodiversity through our team’s eyes
The gist: Partnering with the Autism Academy of Software Quality Assurance (AASQA)for an internship program welcoming under 20 interns since 2017.
BHP designs and deploys career paths for each intern and they work with AASQA, the International Software Testing Quality Board, and Curtin University in Western Australia.
The most common fields are data science, software development and testing, engineering, and environmental safety.

The gist: A platform that provides neurodiverse talent with the opportunity to work at Dell through meaningful full-time and internship opportunities through skills-based hiring.

Dell’s program focuses on engaging talent with skills-based interviews that cater to all learning styles. The company values neurodivergent skills and data-backed abilities in their TA campaigns. Neurodiversity@Dell also offers summer internships that provide talent with a career launchpad in areas including finance, software development, and procurement.
Company with Autistic Hiring Program #4: DXC Technology
Name of hiring autistic program: DXC Dandelion Program
The gist: An award-winning program connecting neurodiverse people with meaningful employment and helping workplaces fill IT skills gaps. The Dandelion Program offers a range of work selection programs, on-site holistic framework, and specialized recruitment selection processes in their hiring outreach.
According to the program’s official site: The DXC Dandelion Program embraces, supports, and expands the skills of neurodivergent individuals to help them secure long-term, fulfilling IT careers.
DXC Technology has successfully delivered the program for over a decade, empowering neurodiverse IT experts with technical guidance and accommodations like tailored employment programs and workplace awareness training.

Name of hiring autistic program: Walgreens REDI (Retail Employees with Disabilities Initiative)
The gist: Launched in 2007, the program continues to support in the employment and career growth of talent with disabilities such as autism. REDI focuses on providing individuals with roles in the retail and customer service spaces.
Walgreen REDI spreads inclusive hiring efforts via longstanding collaborations with transition schools, state agencies, and respective communities that share the organization’s mission toward maintaining a fair hiring process. The program is open to individuals who have been diagnosed with autism and have a high school or college certification. The program enables hires to contribute to the company as they receive the mentorship and guidance to develop their career pathways and essential workplace skills.

Name of hiring autistic program: Autism at Work Program
The gist: The program is a partnership with The Precisionists, Inc. (TPI), a company focused on providing equal hiring opportunities to talent with a broad range of learning and developmental disabilities, including autism.
Participants of the program are assessed, trained, and employed by The Precisionists’ team of talent experts before deployment for project-based roles at KeyBank. Successful applicants get to experience roles in different facets of KeyBank’s operations, including anti-money laundering and loan services. The inclusive hiring partnership has seen notable progress, with 19 contractors onboarded and four converting to full-time positions.
KeyBank has received recognition as a leading disability employer by the National Organization on Disability (NOD).

Neurodivergent team members are provided with the opportunity to collaborate on leading Microsoft projects such as Azure and Office 365 features. Microsoft’s Neurodiversity Program streamlines candidate selection via a skills-based approach that enables their TA team to decide on the best job fit.
Company with Autistic Hiring Program #12: Rising Tide Car Wash
Name of hiring autistic program: The business IS the program.
The gist: Creating a welcoming and inclusive working environment for people with autism so they can gain more work experience and learn what they excel in.
Rising Tide Car Wash hires mostly people with autism (or on the spectrum). In 2020,
the program was so successful that the company decided to open a third location in 2022.
Co-founder John D’Eri and his son Thomas opened a car wash business inspired by his other son diagnosed with autism as a toddler.
D’Eri’s mission:
“to create a social enterprise to give people with autism an opportunity to have real opportunities and real jobs that would challenge them and give them skills.”
The company has hired more than 170 neurodivergent employees, constantly working to resolve the high unemployment rates among individuals with autism.
Company with Autistic Program #13: Wells Fargo
Name of hiring autistic program: Wells Fargo Neurodiversity Program
The gist: The program was launched in 2020 in line with Autism Awareness Month and has successfully hired over 300 neurodivergent employees in the US and India.
Wells Fargo’s neurodivergent program continues to engage underserved communities by embracing neurodivergence as a core tenet at the workplace. Successful hires for the program span a diverse range of roles and specializations, such as corporate risks, digital innovation, and corporate and investment banking. Applicants may also sign up for the company’s Neurodiversity Talent Community, where they’ll receive the latest news and support for meaningful career opportunities.
Company with Autistic Program #14: Goldman Sachs
Name of hiring autistic program: Goldman Sachs Neurodiversity Hiring Initiative
The gist: Goldman Sachs partnered with non-profit organization Specialisterne, through an empowering internship that focuses on normalizing neurodivergence at the workplace. The partnership features a systematic employee-first approach with meaningful coaching and mentorship opportunities.
Talent with a degree and who identify as neurodivergent may apply for the 8-9 week paid internship. Program participants have the potential of converting their internships into long-term positions at the renowned financial firm.

Based on Google search results, candidates, local agencies in recruitment, and related service providers want to know if these five companies are hiring autistic employees.
These searches tell me that job candidates actively search for companies with autistic hiring programs.
