Some of you may worry that you’ll lose a candidate during your lengthy ATS apply process.

Dell has a nice workaround to make sure it doesn’t completely lose the candidate.

Here’s the candidate experience flow:

1. The first step is that the candidate clicks apply on Dell’s nice dynamic job description:

2. Dell then offers up an interim step to capture the name and email of the candidate

Dell's talent community opt-in
Now at least Dell’s got the candidate’s basics (name and email).

3. Finally, the candidate enters the ATS application process (Workday in this case):

Dell’s approach doesn’t solve a long application process that some ATS’s have. But at least it captures the candidate’s name and email in case the candidate abandons the apply process. The recruiting team can now follow up with the candidate either way.
